Step 1 

Season the pork chops with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the pork chops for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.

In the same skillet, melt butter and cook the chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds.
